Aegon UK offers more than just financial support

Provider Aegon UK has launched a new health and wellbeing support service, delivering added value to consumers and offering much needed help during difficult times. Protection customers will now have access to 24-hour support from Aegon partner organisation, Health Assured. Not only is the service available throughout the lifetime of the policy, it is also not restricted to the type of cover held by the policyholder.

Although protection products are there to deliver peace of mind to you and your loved ones, the financial cover is only part of the solution. You or your family may need extra support and help during a stressful time, and the new service delivers access to confidential support and impartial guidance on a range of issues that may occur if the worse was to happen.

So what will policyholders have access to? Aegon UK have announced that they can speak to Health Assured’s qualified counsellors in confidence 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, as part of the policy. They will also receive guidance on a range of issues such as bereavement, grievance, medical diagnosis, family concerns and legal issues. Also available is access to their innovative Online Health Assessment tool, which provides you with health and fitness assignments and nutritional guidance. All of this is available to policyholders at any time during the policy and at no extra cost.

After Friends Life and Aviva added access to Global Treatment through Best Doctors in 2015, providers have been under pressure to ensure their policies deliver added value for consumers. To extend the support beyond just the financial is an important factor for people looking for not just peace of mind, but the knowledge that their insurance provider will also support their customers with medical advice and access to support and guidance.
