AIG ask the industry to tell more stories

AIG is asking the industry to tell more real life stories, to help advisers break down customer concerns. In 2017 AIG paid 99% of life claims, up from 96% in 2016, and paid 93% of critical illness cover claims.

Despite the impressive figures, AIG are asking the industry to do more to help tackle the prevailing objections and assumptions surrounding protection. These make it more of a challenge for advisers to build trust when talking about the importance of protection to their clients.

AIG believe that the key to breaking through barriers is to make use of the countless stories out there about individuals and their families, and the emotions they go through during the claims process.

Statistics can help to inform customers about the reliability and necessity of cover, but it is often stories that have the biggest impact. Real life scenarios show exactly how cover works, and how it can deliver reassurance and peace of mind at a difficult time.
