Do you need later life cover?
7th January, 2020
UK social care is a financial burden that is only getting harder to bear. Last year, VitalityLife launched their Dementia and FrailCare Cover (DFCC) in response. This was an additional option when taking out Serious Illness Cover (SIC), to protect against a large range of later life degenerative illnesses.
Dementia FrailCare+ (DFCC+) has now been introduced as an option for those looking for a greater amount of cover to help against the rising costs of UK social care. This is especially important when it comes to dementia, Alzeimer’s, Parkinson’s, stroke or general frailty.
Created as a top-up option that will be added to your premiums at the beginning of the plan, DFCC+ provides more cover by allowing the policyholder to convert any remaining serious illness cover to DFCC at the end of the policy.
Vitality has been buoyed by the success of their introduction of Dementia FrailCare last year, and since then more than two thirds of eligible policies opted to include DFCC to their SIC. This is great news and shows that insurers should continue to respond to growing needs.
The leading provider has now also partnered with SuperCarers to provide further support to Vitality members. All as part of the drive to provide extra value to policies, the partnership will mean more assistance with booking care services, finding the right care provider, and sourcing local options.
