Vitality introduce Active Rewards
Provider Vitality has launched their Active Rewards campaign, which can offer discounts on wearable technology, such as the apple watch for those who actively look after their health.
Members can also track their activity through their watch to earn more Vitality points, as well as receive notifications on other Vitality Active Rewards for discounts on drinks and cinema tickets.
When trialing the scheme in other countries, the provider has found it to be a successful programme in helping people stay active and engage with their cover on a daily basis.
Experts believe in simplifying critical illness
Well over half of protection experts in the industry believe that critical illness plans such as AIG’s Key3 cover will transform the industry for the better.
Growing the protection market has been one of the biggest challenges in recent years and the slightly complicated nature of most critical illness cover means simplifying policy options is welcome. AIG’s Key3 covers just the three main causes of critical illness claims: heart attack, cancer and stroke.
A Helping Hand from Royal London
Many providers are working hard to ensure that there is more to their plans than simply financial protection. With policy benefits such as access to Best Doctors and counselling support, Royal London’s Helping Hand benefit has been improved even further to help policy holders.
They have enhanced their offering by adding five practical services, available through RedArc personal nurse adviser. They include help at home, services such as cooking, cleaning, food shopping and gardening, as well as support to ease the pressure of running a home to aid recovery.
Advisers recognise a lack of cover for clients
Data from a life and protection firm has revealed that nearly three quarters of advisers understand there to be an increasing threat that people do not have enough life insurance and critical illness cover. A statement from the firm has highlighted that over 42% of those with cover, claim they only took out enough to cover up to two years’ salary.
