AIG Life has published some impressive claim statistics, announcing that in 2014 they paid out on 90.2% of Critical Illness (CI) claims and 92.2% on Life Insurance. They join other top providers in revealing over 90% payout on claims. Friends Life for example paid out 99% of its Life and Terminal Illness claims in 2014, amounting to over £121 million.

Of all the CI claims not paid in 2013 by AIG Life, 4.6% were due to non-disclosure and 5.6% for pre-agreed conditions not being met. AIG life also stated that the claim statistics revealed a 7.8% point increase for Life Insurance from 2013. Steve Casey, head of marketing & propositions at AIG Life, said that ‘the percentage paid figures are higher than last year, which we predicted would be the case’. These statistics continue to dissolve the myth that insurance companies avoid paying out on policies, and in several cases show a marked increase in successful claims.

Many providers offer more than just a lump sum payment as part of their products. AIG Life for example, has continued to put its focus on providing extra benefits to customers and their family when they need it most. In 2014, they provided 27 customers with payments from the claims support fund, which is available on all AIG Life Critical Illness policies to cover the travel costs to and from hospital up to the value of £300.

These are just some of the extra benefits customers can enjoy as part of their policy, so have a look on our quotes page and see if you can find a great deal for your Life and CI cover.
